Hip Hop Summit Action Network Presents: Get Your Money Right /Financial Empowerment today at TSU.

The panelist consist of Chairman Russell Simmons, President/CEO Dr. Benjamin Chavis, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, BET's Alesha Renee, Mad Hatta 97.9 The Box, Slim Thug, Bun B, Actor Terrence Howard, Recording Artist Jeremih, Mortgage Guru Lynn Richardson, Journalist Shannon Buggs, Walmart Regional Finance Director of Walmart Byron Owens.

I was most impressed with mortgage guru Lynn Richardson. She had so many words of wisdom based on her personal experience. One attendant was a jack of all trades and her response was "The sun shines on the whole world, but if you focus it's ray's in one area it can become laser sharp and that's what you want to do. Focus and perfect one area before moving on to the next." Richardson's best advice was to not only pursue academic knowledge but to also pursue financial knowledge as well.

Terrence Howard was recently added to the summit and had some sage advice for the audience. "College and Education is not just for the young." He encourages people of all ages to pursue a degree. The witty outspoken thespian added that he is a actor because he was born with perfect symmetry and the gift of gab but also holds a degree in Chemical engineering and Physics. Handsome, Talented and intelligent. Loves it!

Bun B encouraged the youth to never give up and cited the many times that he wanted to give up were always right before his biggest career breakthroughs.

Slim Thugga informed us that you may have more money then many of the rappers you love and adore. He also advised those pursuing the entertainment industry to always have a back up plan. We also know what his philosophy on strip clubs from watching his satire on the Daily Show. (lol) By the way Slim you looked so "edumacated" with your new cut and specs!

The Madd Hatta encouraged the youth to save while in college and testified to how he was able to save money as well as send some back home to family while attending college.

All in all it was a very enlightening experience and a summit that our youth in today's economy needed to hear.

Maxwell at The Toyota Center

The Black Summer's Night tour came to the Toyota Center last night and brought with it a concert full of top billing artist. Opening act Chrisette Michele, my beloved baby daddy Common and my other baby's daddy Maxwell. Both my heartthrobs on the same ticket... What's a girl to do?

Tonight I had to choose which baby daddy I was going to give my full love and devotion to and Maxwell won. Besides I just spent the night with Common last week...Hey don't judge me!!!

Anywho... Maxwell worked the stage like no other. Seriously, watching him do those James Brown splits and slides made me want to run straight to a yoga class so I could keep up with him. That man is limber.

There was one particular move he did that made me Hmm *pause* I could do lil somethin' somethin' wit that position. OKAY!!!! ;>

His band is awesome and surprisingly over half of them are from Houston most notably Robert Glasper. I was also really impressed with the lighting on stage it really set the mood watching Maxwell's silhouette gyrate and groove to the beat. I swear I was transported to another place with him... alone in my boudoir. Hey I'm just keeping it real. Baby is some kind of special.

Maxwell ran through his current hits and of course the ol school fro'd out Maxwell grooves. Which were pure bliss to my ears. I've been in love with Maxwell since the beginning and won't stop even when the cops come knockin. My favorite moment was when white feathers rained down from the ceiling while he sang "Pretty Wings."

At one point in the show he questioned why he hadn't any panties thrown at him and WHOOOSSSH a pair of black 3X lace boy cut panties went flying across the stage. He picked them up and stretched them out making a flirty statement about "Big things in Texas" and stuck them in his back pocket. And no...they were not mine because I didn't wear any. Now there!!!

What's a girl to do when both her baby daddies will be performing on the same stage. Maxwell (one of my many love children's father) will perform tonite at The Toyota Center at 7:30 with special guest hip hop artist (My other baby daddy) Common. Opening act Neo Soul singer Chrisette Michele will balance these two sexy men out with her sultry voice. Tickets still available!!!

I'll see you there if I can find a babysitter for all these kids!!!!

Sheree Whitfield of Real Housewives of Atlanta will be in Houston Saturday October 10 at Level nightclub hosting a party & model search for her clothing line She by Sheree'.

Sheree will also be hosting Soul Kitchen Sundays at the House of Blues Foundation Room Oct 11. Dinner reservations start at 7pm. $25 includes entry and a 3 course meal complete with an appetizer and a dessert. Late night party at 9pm - 2am.

The 106 & Park concert series featured Trey Songz, Mario and Day 26 took place last night at in Houston at The House of Blues. The testosterone filled line up brought women of all ages out each one had their favorite. Opening act Sean Garrett enticed the crowd by saying "I know what Houston women like... dem Louis bags" while dangling a new Louis Vuitton bag over a crowd of screaming women to whoever screamed the loudest. I was standing next to a young lady who was commenting on how whack he was next thing you know... she's raving about how fine he is. From whack to fine with the wave of a "magic" Louis Vuitton wand. I must say I was bit embarrassed, I know how our "Get it" girls in Houston love designer bags. But... Hey I ain't mad at Sean Garrett, you do need to pull a trick out of your sleeve if you're going to open up for Trey Songz.

Day 26 hit the stage and primed the ladies up with their synchronized dances and vocals. I've got to be totally honest I prefer these gentleman on television what's a Day 26 show without some type of "drama." Is it wrong that I was waiting for Q' to storm off the stage cryin and ish'. Maybe there was a meltdown at the meet & greet Day 26 had in The Foundation room during Trey Songz's set. I gotta say this I would'nt be K. Anntionette if I didn't... I smelled the distinct fragrance of "Bitchass-ness." What group makes you buy a meet & greet pass? What group has a meet & greet session during the headliners show? Tacky! Tacky! Tacky! I know at least two young ladies that recieved extra meet and greet privilages when one of the guys in Day 26 hand picked and whisked them through the kitchen in The Foundation Room. *giggle* My eyes are everywhere. It also would've been nice if Brian Angel personally addressed his hometown fans.

Mario really surprised me the most with his set proving to me that he is a true "performer." I really enjoyed his interaction with his backup dancers. He also paid an emotional tribute to Michael Jackson ala Smooth Criminal Style while performing one of his soulful ballads. I love his current single "Break Up." All in all he gave a full and entertaining performance.

I know what time it is when a fight breaks out in the crowd (obviously someone securing their spot by the stage to see Trey Songz.) Can I just say that I've covered many concerts at The House of Blues and have never seen a crowd fight so much. Ultimately the ladies where evicted from the The House right before Trey hit the stage.

Trey Songz hits the stage and all he needs to do is flash that kilowatt smile of his and the crowd goes wild. Especially when he performs "I Need a Girl" I personally enjoyed his sexy performance of "Black Roses." Of course "Lol Smiley Face" was a crowd pleaser. @SongzYuuup told fans to hit up his Twitter page after the show. Later he replied to fans... Happy yall came out!!! The Hennessy Berry: 1 1/2oz Hennessy 3 mint leaves 1/2 Rasberry Puree 1/2 fresh Lemon juice Top w/Sprite or 7up Garnish w/ 2 Raspberry slices.

The Hennessy Ginger: 2 oz Hennessy 1/2 oz fresh Lemon juice 3/4oz Simple syrup 1/4oz Ginger juice.

Last but not least my absolute favorite recipe: Add 1 Hip Hop Emcee combined with a 7 piece live band and 2 parts ol school flava with generous amounts of Hennessy equals one good night. Hennessy definately is the master of The Art of Blending.
