PS: I've got to keep it 100% real. This event and all of those who organized are real SocialPrivy Certified Socialites. The definition of a socialite is one who uses her social status and activities to enhance and improve society. A socialite is not a party girl who knows everyone and attends every party always dressed to the max throwing her status quo around. A socialite doesn't use her relationships with the well known and wealthy to host parties at nightclubs just to fill her designer pockets. I personally call people like that HOODLITES. No offense, I'm just giving credit where credit is due. Thank You ladies for being excellent examples of social responsibility. Until the next time!!!

Hollywood Houston w/ Robin Givens at Brennans

The lovely Ms. Robin Givens was the epitome of style and grace as she spoke of wisedom and truth. The acclaimed actress also shared her sincere heartfelt life experiences with guest Sunday at The Hollywood to Houston lecture series held at Brennans.

Ms. Givens was in Houston performing in the breakout play Church Girl. She spoke on everything inquiring minds wanted to know without fear or reservation. Yes, even Mike Tyson's name was tossed about. However not in the way that you're assuming. Robin Givens thanked Tyson for their rocky tumultous marriage as it was one of the many trials and tribulations that made her the strong woman that she is today. She also spoke on the imfamous Oprah Interview of which she wanted to avoid like the plaque. Robin also spoke very passionately about women's rights especially as it pertains to domestic abuse. She is passionate about bringing these matters to the forefront of media. The hot topics that continued to arise during her address were GOD and being a mother. Two things that are the most important to her.

On a lighter note... I almost spit out my Pinot when she recalled a story about being a little girl visiting a Pentacostal Church with her best friend Laurie. Robin enjoyed the church service so much that she wanted to catch the Holy Spirit like everyone else... Running around, shouting and praising. Well, when it didn't come naturally she did what any actress would do. She performed what she saw others doing. Her best friend Laurie busted her after service... "Robin, we know that you were faking it." You had to see her act the scene out she had us all in stiches. Girl you can't fake the Holy Spirit. Sometimes it will make you sit still and listen and sometimes *singing* "it makes you wanna shout, throw your arms up and shout Hallueh! Heeey! Heeey! Heeey! Heeey! Whew lemme stop! ;>

I have to say that I throughly enjoyed Robin Givens. She was absolutely delightful and inviting. She made me remeber how important her career is to so many of us. Think about... Robin Givens was playing strong black woman roles back during a time when televison was comfortable with us being prostitues, project moms and what not. Robin Givens always played strong intelligent roles from her days on The Cosby Show to Head of the Class, Women of Brewster Place, and who could forget BOOMERANG! She changed many women and mens lives with that movie.

Guest enjoyed converastion while dining on a delicious lunch courtesy of the world renowed Brennans.

The Band was Phenominal. This gentleman had a voice just like the legendary Louis Armstrong. OUTSTANDING!

Yes... It went down like that!

Jalene hitting Robin with the "How do you feel about Reality TV question and how has it effected the industry?"

Robin Givens and Jalene Mack acknowledge the woman behind the Fab'Tastic Event Christine Jones.

If pictures tell a thousand words... then these pictures speak for themself. We all had a blast! Matter fact Robin had soo much fun, she lost track of time and almost missed her call time.
